At THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI from March 1, 2024 (Friday) to June 30, 2024 (Sunday), we will be selling our spring limited edition sweets “Jewelry Japón” in accommodation plans, room service and at the café.

Introducing a new sensation of sweets crafted by a French chef with 20 years of experience!

Since last autumn, THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI has been proposing a new hotel stay experience through the concept of “Emode (Emotional × Mode)”, offering original hotel sweets for guests to enjoy. The innovative and refined sweets crafted by a French chef with 20 years of experience in the field, while being ahead of trends, also embody classic flavors that move the hearts of our guests. These sweets not only have an appearance that makes you want to take photos but also feature authentic flavors infused with the chef’s French essence.

This spring, experience the new hybrid sweets “Jewelry Japón,” which combines the traditional Japanese sweet “yokan” and the popular Western sweet, jelly. Expressing spring with two layers: the vibrant green of matcha yokan and the refreshing flavor of fruit Jelly.

The matcha yokan is crafted to evoke the fine texture of matcha, with the French chef’s unique touch of using white chocolate and milk instead of white bean paste to round out the flavor. The white chocolate, sourced from the renowned French brand Valrhona’s Ivoire, enhances the delicate sweetness and aroma without overshadowing the subtlety of the spring fruits. For the fruit jelly, seasonal citrus fruits such as Dekopon, mandarin oranges and strawberries are used. By employing a French culinary technique called “infusion,” where the peels and pulp of citrus fruits are boiled or steeped in liquids such as water or syrup to transfer their aroma, the jelly encapsulates the fragrance and subtle bitterness of the citrus fruits.

You can enjoy the yokan and jelly separately or combine them to enjoy a marriage of flavors. Additionally, you can savor the change in taste by adding a cherry blossom-scented sauce with a hint of salt to the rare cheesecake mousse. In addition, special rose petal dry flowers with pink petals are available as candies, adding a touch of elegance after enjoying the sweets. Enjoy conversation with friends or loved ones while savoring these candies after enjoying the sweets.

About the Chef:

Kohei Nishiura
After training in restaurants in Kobe, Osaka and France, Chef Nishiura served as head chef at several French restaurants in Osaka, including La Chic in Yodoyabashi. In December 2019, he became the head chef at THE LIVELY KITCHEN OSAKA HONMACHI. In his course menu appetizers, he offers French delicatessen. While balancing classic and modern French cuisine, he incorporates seasonal ingredients from Japan’s four seasons, aiming to create dishes that bring out the vitality of each ingredient. Using his good taste and knowledge cultivated through his experiences, he conveys the charm of “Casual French” cuisine at THE LIVELY OSAKA HONMACHI, so you can enjoy French cuisine in a relaxed environment.

THE LIVELY BAR: The hotel’s top-floor bar where you can also use the cafe

Since last winter, the hotel’s top floor, the 14th-floor “THE LIVELY BAR,” has been available for cafe use from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to the limited-time sweets, you can also enjoy Brazilian traditional sweets, pudding, teas from the traditional German brand Ronnefeldt, tea cocktails, cream sodas and more. Enjoy a leisurely time in the cafe in the open and design-conscious space bathed in sunlight.
