Beginners Welcome! Workshop with Pen Drawing Artist Hirokazu Sugiyama, Active in Nezu

HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU, since its opening in February 2013, has aimed to be a “lifestyle hotel where people can connect,” with a focus on community-building events. We have strived to collaborate with many local businesses, such as restaurants and miscellaneous goods stores, to mutually promote and share the charm of the area.

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for community members and guests to learn about pen drawing by inviting a local artisan active in Nezu. On the day of the workshop, Mr. Hirokazu Sugiyama will serve as the instructor, imparting his knowledge of pen drawing techniques. Additionally, pen drawing postcards created by Mr. Sugiyama are available for purchase at 150 yen per card.

While the delicate and beautiful techniques may not be mastered by everyone immediately, we hope that by experiencing the art, you can feel the essence of the Nezu neighborhood. This workshop is offered with the desire to provide a valuable opportunity to learn directly from an artisan. We encourage your participation and invite you to fully enjoy the artistic atmosphere of Nezu, the city of art.

◼️Pen Drawing – Second Generation of the Sugiyama Style, Mr. Hirokazu Sugiyama’s Profile

Member of Bunkyo Ward Traditional Craftsmanship Association, Member of Bunkyo Ward Tourist Association
