Once you land in Fukuoka, it’s a quick 10-minute ride from the airport to the heart of Hakata!

Unlike most airports, Fukuoka is an exception with its close proximity to the city center. In just 10 minutes, you’ll be at The Millennials Fukuoka, where the lobby lounge’s bar-inspired design is a favorite photo spot for our guests. So, snap a special memory before you head out to explore the city!

Once you’ve rested in the hotel, kick off your food tour with the classic Hakata Ramen.

Fukuoka is famous for its ramen, and we highly recommend trying the Hakata Ramen to start your journey. There are plenty of ramen shops near The Millennials Fukuoka, including the main store of “Ichiran,” just a minute’s walk away. If you’re overwhelmed by choices, don’t hesitate to ask our staff for recommendations.

Next up is the “Kitchen of Hakata” – Yanagibashi Rengo Market.

Recharge at Yanagibashi Rengo Market, which has been around for over a hundred years and is beloved among locals. You’ll find a delightful array of fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, and more. The best part? Engage in face-to-face trade with the vendors, who are more than happy to share local tips and advice on preparing your purchases. And of course, don’t miss out on the street-food snacks—it’s an authentic and enriching experience!

Take a coffee break at Ohori Park after your food adventure.

When you’re feeling a bit tired, grab a specialty take-out coffee from one of Fukuoka’s many home-roasted coffee shops. Then, enjoy a leisurely break in the serene surroundings of Ohori Park—it’s pure bliss.

Now for the main event – indulge in Fukuoka’s local delicacy, Motsunabe!

For dinner, feast on Motsunabe, a hot pot of tender beef offal, cabbage, and flavorful chives. It’s the perfect cure after a day of exploring. Just ask our staff for the best places to experience this local gem!

Afterward, head to an old-fashioned food stall for some Yakitori.

The next stop of the evening is at a traditional food stall, where you can enjoy Yakitori alongside a refreshing drink, immersing yourself in a nostalgic atmosphere of old Japan. Hakata is one of the few places in Japan where these traditional food stalls have managed to survive, making a visit to them an essential part of your Fukuoka experience.
At these stalls, you’ll find not only Yakitori but also a variety of other delightful treats such as Yakisoba, fluffy tamagoyaki with Karashi Mentaiko, Gyoza, and even Escargot?! ! With so many options, you can definitely hop from stall to stall, exploring the flavors and finding your personal favorites!

Finally, end the night at “THE LIVELY BAR.”

Indulge in a dessert-like cocktail at our hotel bar, “THE LIVELY Fukuoka Hakata,” where you can meet and interact with fellow travelers and locals—a charming experience.

That concludes our recommended gourmet tour route in Fukuoka.
