At our lifestyle hotel in Otaru, Hokkaido, we pride ourselves on offering a unique experience for our guests. Our Free Wine Service, available exclusively for hotel guests from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at BAR Ignis, is a delightful way to unwind and elevate your stay.

During this special hour and a half, guests can indulge in three carefully selected red and white wines, along with a variety of soft drinks, curated by our expert wine advisors. But that’s not all—we go a step further by featuring a premium wine each month, allowing guests to explore and savor unique and exquisite flavors for an additional fee.

December’s Showcase: Camel Farm Winery – Yoichi Nouveau 2023

This December, we’re delighted to present the “Camel Farm Winery: Yoichi Nouveau 2023.” Established in 2014 as part of the Camel Coffee Group, known for operating KALDI, Camel Farm Winery brings you an authentic Nouveau experience.

◼️ The Production Method: Maceration Carbonic

Following the tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau, our Nouveau is crafted using the Maceration Carbonic method. This involves fermenting Regent grapes in stainless steel tanks without crushing them, allowing carbon dioxide to fill the tanks. The result? A wine that boasts a vibrant color, lower tannins, and a fresher aroma.

◼️ What is Nouveau?

“Nouveau” means “new” in French, and in the wine industry, it signifies a wine of the current vintage. Our “Yoichi Nouveau 2023” is made from grapes harvested in September, offering a truly new and exciting experience.

◼️ Tasting Notes

This Nouveau wine is not only easy to drink but also presents a delightful blend of dryness and fruity flavors reminiscent of berries. With aromas akin to roses and bananas, its fresh scent and lightness embody sheer elegance.
