Hello, I am a front desk staff member at HOTEL GRAPHY NEZU in Taito-ku, Tokyo.
Isn’t it always a joy to visit a bakery and breathe in the smell of freshly-baked bread?
There are many ways to enjoy bread, whether you want to bring it on a picnic, reheat it at home or have it for breakfast.
In this article, I will introduce three recommended bakeries in the Yanesen area.

①think
This bread and sweets shop opened in April 2023 under the concept of “Think–it all starts with a thought”. It is located in a corner of the Uenosakuragi-machi complex, a renovated Japanese house built in 1938.
The exterior of the restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere in the style of an old house. The restaurant was so popular that there was a queue outside, since there was a limit to the number of people inside. There are many female customers and it seems to be popular with people from overseas.
The moment I stepped into the shop, I could smell the sweet aroma of bread and sweets. The breads lined up in the shop were all glittering and I had a hard time deciding which one to choose. We recommend doing take-out and warming your bread up at home.
Store Information
[Hours] 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and if bread sells out)

②Bonjour Mojo Mojo
A 10-minute walk from Nezu, this small bakery is located down a narrow alleyway and offers more than 20 different kinds of animal-shaped bread, with flavors changing depending on the animal. Finding out what flavour your favorite animal is is part of the fun.
The style is to order over the counter and the staff will politely tell you the type and taste of the bread. The wooden board with the menu on it is lovely.
This time I ordered a cat (sweet potato), hedgehog (baked curry) and caterpillar (three-colored bread).
They are all so cute that it’s a shame to eat them.
Store Information
[Hours] 11 a.m. until sold out (Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and the first Sunday of every month)

③Ohirasei Pan
Located a 5-minute walk from Nezu, this sandwich shop opened in February 2022. It is an affiliate of Bonjour Mojo Mojo. A variety of sandwiches are carefully arranged in the window.
The shop has a warm wooden feel. As well as sandwiches, regular bread, bread ears and goods are also available.
Shrimp cutlet (470 yen) on the left, egg & potato salad (340 yen) on the right. Although only available as take-away, these hearty sandwiches are perfect for picnics. The prawns in the prawn cutlet are particularly plump and go well with the sauce, and it doesn’t take long to finish it.
Store Information
[Hours] Weekdays 7:30 a.m. until sold out, Weekends and holidays 8 a.m. until sold out (Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and the first Sunday of every month)
